What does "Field-Verified by Pico X" actually mean?
The product has been used by our own crews on at least 25 unique Singapore job sites, tracked for 12 months across 30/90/180/365-day inspection intervals, and achieved at least 85% recurrence-free performance. Lab certificates are not accepted as a substitute.
Why don't you accept lab data on its own?
Lab tests run at 21 °C and 50% RH on sterile substrates for 30 days. Singapore homes sit at 28–32 °C and 75–90% RH on cement render, skim-coat, tile grout and painted plaster for years. Many products that pass ASTM D3273 in the lab fail at the 14-month mark on HDB bathroom ceilings.
Can DIY buyers trust the badge?
Yes — with one caveat. The badge certifies the product performed under professional application. If you're applying it yourself, the product is capable, but your prep work determines the outcome.
How does a manufacturer get evaluated?
Send us product samples and technical data. If we agree there's a plausible fit, we deploy it under our normal SOP on live jobs — no separate test rig, no favourable conditions. We log the outcomes for 12 months. Products that hit the threshold get badged; products that don't get a private report back to you.
Does the manufacturer pay for verification?
No. The 12-month field trial costs the brand nothing. This is what keeps the badge independent.
Can the badge be revoked?
Yes. If ongoing field data drops below the 85% threshold, or the manufacturer changes the formulation without disclosure, the product is removed from the verified list and we publish the reason.
