Quick answer

A 35L/day dehumidifier is sized for whole-flat, basement, laundry and office use in Singapore. Holding a room between 50% and 60% relative humidity is what stops mould re-establishing after remediation, and 35L/day gives enough headroom to do that in large or persistently damp spaces.

About PX35 Dehumidifier — 35L/Day

The PX35 is a 35 litre per day dehumidifier built for the spaces Singapore humidity punishes hardest: whole flats, basements and bomb shelters, laundry yards, storerooms and offices. Rated for areas of 1,500 sq ft and above, it also suits hotels, garages, sheltered outdoor areas and commercial or industrial units. At 30°C and 80% relative humidity it pulls up to 35 litres of water out of the air a day, which is the capacity you need when a room sits above 75% RH for most of the year. Bringing a room down into the 50-60% RH band removes the condition mould needs to grow, which is why we recommend a dehumidifier alongside every remediation job we complete. The 4 litre tank keeps emptying to a minimum, and the continuous drainage outlet lets you run it unattended for weeks with a hose to a floor trap. Day-to-day use is deliberately simple. An LED control panel shows the current setting at a glance, a 12-hour timer lets you run it only when you need it, the memory function restores your last settings after a power cut, and auto shut-off with a water-full alarm prevents overflow. At around 51 dBA it is quiet enough to leave running in a bathroom, laundry or hallway without taking over the room.

How to use it

Place the unit at least 20cm away from walls, curtains and furniture so air can circulate freely. Close windows and doors to the space you are drying, set the humidity target to 55% RH, and either empty the 4L tank when the alarm sounds or fit a drain hose to the continuous drainage outlet and run it to a floor trap. Use the 12-hour timer if you only need it running overnight or while the flat is empty. Clean the intake filter monthly.

Frequently asked questions

How big a space does 35L/day cover?

A 35L/day unit is sized for large or persistently damp spaces — whole HDB flats, basements and bomb shelters, laundry yards, storerooms and small offices. For a single bedroom a smaller unit is usually enough, but 35L/day gives you headroom when the room sits above 75% RH most of the year.

What humidity should I set it to?

Set it to hold the room between 50% and 60% relative humidity. That band stops mould growth without drying the room uncomfortably.

Do I have to empty the 4L tank every day?

In a very damp room, yes — but you do not have to. Fit a hose to the continuous drainage outlet and run it to a floor trap, and the unit will run unattended for weeks.

Is 51 dBA quiet enough for a bedroom?

51 dBA is roughly the level of a quiet conversation. Most people run it in a bedroom during the day or overnight in an adjacent room, or use the timer so it runs before bedtime and shuts off automatically.

Will a dehumidifier alone remove existing mould?

No. It stops new growth by removing the moisture that feeds it, but existing mould still has to be physically removed and treated first. We use dehumidification as the prevention step after remediation.

What does the memory function do?

After a power cut or if the unit is unplugged, it restarts with your previous mode, fan speed and humidity target instead of resetting to factory settings.

Is delivery free?

Free delivery on orders over S$100. Orders under S$100 pay a flat S$15 delivery fee.

Need it applied for you?

We also remove mould and repaint. See Mould Removal & Painting, or read the anti-mould paint guide.
