Weak Areas We See Most

Wall–ceiling junction (cornice line)

Vapour rises and condenses at the highest cold surface. The 1–2 cm band where wall meets ceiling is the universal first failure point in any Singapore bathroom.

Behind toilet cistern

The wall directly behind the cistern is the coldest surface in the room (cold inlet water cooling the wall). Hidden from view; first noticed when the wallpaper-style finish bubbles or smells.

Silicone joint at floor-trap perimeter

Silicone is hydrophobic on top but mould eats the surfactant additives over time. Black silicone discolouration is mould — replacing the silicone is faster than treating it.

Will it come back?

If we treat the cause (ventilation, sealer, substrate prep), no — that's why we offer 6/24-month warranties. If we're asked to spot-treat without addressing ventilation or substrate, we'll quote it but say upfront that recurrence within 6 months is likely.

Should I just change the silicone instead?
